At Brock United Methodist Church, we believe that our growth as human beings never stops. Growing in our knowledge and love of God is a lifetime journey. This is why we offer a variety of classes, small groups and Bible studies to support you in your faith journey. In addition to learning the Bible, these opportunities will also connect you with others in our faith community. Real people with real struggles – just like you. We hope that you will take that next crucial step in your life of faith and join a group!
We also believe that we need to be servants in our community and the world.
1 Peter 4:10 tells us “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace” By serving others, we can help the less fortunate in countless ways.” This help will not only improve the life of others but help bring them closer to God and give them the incentive to help others. Serving teams also give the team members the opportunity to grow connecting and lasting friendships.
Matthew 28:16-20 (NIV) tells us about “The Great Commission”
16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Jesus commissioned us to make disciples. We want others to connect with God and us. We want others to grow in faith. We have found that serving the community and the world not only improves the lives of others but it also gives everyone the satisfaction of knowing that they are following the words of Jesus. When serving others in many different ways we are showing the Love of Christ, we are connecting
John 12:26 ESV / If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.
